Taiwan’s Yusco keeps stainless steel prices unchanged for July

Yieh United Steel Corporation (Yusco), a leading stainless steel producer in Taiwan, decided to issue flat pricing for all products for July, stopping its consecutive price increases. This decision is to support distributors in securing international contracts as global market transaction prices remain relatively stable.

Under the new adjustments, pricing stays flat for 304 and 430 stainless steel grades, as well as the 316L surcharge.

Yusco faces high production costs driven by expensive raw materials like high-nickel pig iron and international stainless steel scrap. Furthermore, a weakening New Taiwan Dollar and surging global freight rates increase manufacturing pressures. These financial burdens counteract a recent pullback in base metal prices, which fell after the US Federal Reserve maintained steady benchmark interest rates mid-month to strengthen the US dollar.
