Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, reported record second-quarter and first-half profits, with Q2 net income reaching NT$9.043 billion and earnings per share (EPS) at NT$2.04, while H1 net income hit NT$12.628 billion, with EPS at NT$2.85.
CEO Shyi-Chin Wang said that overall operations across the three main business units should remain stable in the third quarter compared to the previous period. Stainless steel, resources, and wire and cable sectors all contributed to performance, with stainless steel revenue up by 12%, resources up by 17%, and wire and cable up by 9% year on year in the second quarter.
In the future, global AI expansion and data center infrastructure developments are expected to drive long-term demand for power transmission and distribution products, alongside the company’s deepening involvement in liquid-cooling system materials.
