Malaysia has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of stainless steel cold-rolled products from Indonesia following a petition alleging that the products are being dumped in the Malaysian market.
The products under investigation are stainless steel cold-rolled coils, sheets, plates or other forms. The products are classified under the following HS/AHTN tariff codes: 7219.31.00 00, 7219.32.00 00, 7219.33.00 00, 7219.34.10 00, 7219.90.00 00, 7220.20.10 00 and 7220.20.90 00.
According to trade data, Malaysia imported approximately 700,000 tons of steel products from Indonesia in 2025, up from around 600,000 tons in 2024. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s total steel exports to global markets reached approximately 7.7 million tons in 2025, an annual increase of 30.5%.
