Ukrainian manufacturer Interpipe has announced the supply of steel pipes for a major offshore wind energy project located approximately 69 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk in the UK.
The company delivered nearly 2,500 tons of pipes in various sizes, which are being utilized in structures that support wind turbines and facilitate safe mooring for service vessels.
Jorge Ruiz, the sales manager for the European market, noted that the project demanded strict technical specifications, including increased wall thickness and high corrosion resistance to withstand harsh marine conditions.
Once completed, the wind farm is expected to have a generation capacity of at least 1.4 GW. This output is projected to supply electricity to more than 1.3 million households, directly supporting the UK’s renewable energy targets.
