China exported 38.26 million tons of steel sheet and coil products in the first seven months of 2026, down 9.9% year on year. The decline narrowed by 1.3 percentage points compared with the first half of the year.
In July alone, China’s steel sheet and coil exports reached 6.02 million metric tons, down 1.8% from a year earlier and 1.15% from the previous month.
Steel sheet and coil products are widely used in the automotive, home appliance and machinery manufacturing industries. However, weaker global manufacturing activity and increasing trade restrictions have continued to weigh on overseas demand.
As a result, China’s steel sheet and coil exports remained under pressure, posting a 9.9% year-on-year decline during the January-July period.
