Brazilian steel sector sees stable sales and production while imports, exports, and consumption decline during July 2026

According to the Brazilian Steel Institute, domestic steel sales reached 1.9 million tons in July 2026, remaining stable compared to the same month in 2025. Meanwhile, apparent steel consumption fell 4.7% year-on-year to 2.2 million tons.

On the other hand, domestic crude steel production also remained stable during the month, up 0.1% year-on-year to 2.8 million tons.

Imports in July fell sharply by 37.8% year-on-year, totaling 383,000 tons. Steel exports during the month totaled 1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%.
