Tata Steel CEO expects 8-10% domestic steel demand growth in H2

Tata Steel Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director T. V. Narendran projected domestic steel demand growth of 8% to 10% during the second half of the ongoing fiscal year.

Speaking in Delhi, he said that strong activity across all consuming sectors creates positive industry prospects.

Regarding the IJmuiden facility in the Netherlands, the chief executive stated that discussions with the Dutch government continue regarding coke oven closures and steel slag classification before finalizing a binding transformation agreement aimed at lower-carbon production.
