Optimistic market recovery and firming prices fueled impressive sales for several Taiwanese stainless steel producers.
Stainless steel cold-rolled sheet producer Chien Shing reported that its May revenue soared by 562.38% year on year to NT$238 million, making it the top revenue growth performer in the local steel sector. This surge was triggered by strengthening London Metal Exchange (LME) nickel prices, which prompted downstream distributors to rush orders and restock inventory.
Meanwhile, Ta Chen International generated NT$11.7 billion in May, up by 42.53% from the same month last year, driven by expanded local production and strong pricing power at its Texas facility in the high-tariff US market.
Additionally, stainless steel pipe manufacturer Froch posted a year-on-year increase of 37.91% in its May revenue, reaching NT$1.19 billion, supported by strong demand from domestic semiconductor plant expansions and a rebound in European and American inventory replenishment.
