South Korean steel manufacturer POSCO will invest US$359 million to build its eighth continuous galvanizing line (8CGL) for automotive steel, which planned to complete by 2028. POSCO stated that this investment will increase its overall hot-dip galvanized steel sheet production capacity to 4.95 million tons per year.
8CGL is expected to become a core component in the production of low-carbon automotive steel, meeting the global demand for low-carbon steel from automakers through the use of ultra-high temperature heat treatment equipment in electric arc furnace processes.
