On July 9, 2026, Japan announced provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties lasting four months, from July 8, 2026, to November 8, 2026. The measures target imports of nickel-based stainless steel cold-rolled strips, sheets, and coils. The affected goods are cold-rolled flat-rolled products containing over 0.6% nickel and at least 10.5% chromium by weight, excluding plated, coated, clad, or post-processed perforated products.
Under this decree, Chinese exporters face AD rates between 27.7% and 42.1%. Specifically, Guangdong Yongjin Metal Technology, Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel, Shanghai STAL Precision Stainless Steel, Jiangsu Yongjin Metal Technology, and Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel receive a 27.7% rate, and all other Chinese suppliers face 42.1%.
Meanwhile, Taiwanese exporters face lower rates ranging from 3.6% to 20.1%. Yieh United Steel Corporation (Yusco), Jie Jin Stainless Steel Industry, Taiwan Nippon Precision Strip Material, Tang Eng Iron Works, Tung Mung Development, and Yuan Long Stainless Steel receive a 3.6% rate, and all other Taiwanese enterprises face 20.1%.
