Nimba Mining Company, a state-owned enterprise entirely controlled by Guinea, established a pre-financing agreement exceeding US$300 million with global mining participant Glencore on September 7, 2026.
The five-year contract governs the marketing of 10 to 12 million tons of bauxite annually. This development forms part of the broader Simandou 2040 Programme, designed to expand national participation in the extractive sector, secure international capital, and increase domestic revenue streams derived from natural resources to foster sustainable economic transformation.
