Dak Nong Aluminum advances operations with safety upgrades and digital training for 146 employees

Dak Nong Aluminum Company – TKV in Lam Dong, Vietnam, is linking workplace initiatives with efforts to improve plant operations, equipment safety and operational efficiency.

Pham Ngoc Thanh is a shift supervisor at the thermal power plant. He has suggested several changes to fix problems at the plant.

In 2023, suggestions and plans for building a low-pressure steam pipeline between the thermal power plant and the coal gasification plant were given by him. This pipeline provides steam when needed.

In 2024, he worked on the A06 return water pipeline to reduce noise, vibration and hot water leaks. The changes also reduced the time needed for equipment repairs.

In 2025, he proposed using a closed pipe to collect wastewater from the 250-ton GO unit. The pipe reduces the water pressure and cools the water before it enters drain P1. This also reduces noise and lowers the risk of workers getting burned by hot water.

Thanh joined the company in December 2014 and became a Party member in 2021. He received the grassroots-level Emulation Soldier title for eight consecutive years. The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group also named him an Emulation Soldier for 2017–2018 at the group level.
