China’s crude stainless steel production falls in July

China’s crude stainless steel production reached 3.627 million tons in July, dropping by 0.6% from June. Output figures showed 1.876 million tons for the Cr-Ni series, 1.029 million tons for the Cr-Mn series, 672,000 tons for the Cr series, and 50,850 tons for duplex stainless steel.

In July, China’s stainless steel imports totaled 116,400 tons, down by 3.16% month on month, while total cumulative imports for January through July amounted to 871,200 tons.

In terms of exports, the volume was 391,400 tons, creating a net export volume of 275,000 tons. Total cumulative exports for the first seven months reached 2.45 million tons.

Apparent consumption of stainless steel for July rose by 0.98% from June to reach 3.007 million tons.
