Dominican steelmaker Acero Estrella inaugurated a new plant EcoAcero, betting that the Dominican Republic is experiencing a historic moment marked by economic optimism, investment, and the strengthening of public-private partnerships.
At the inauguration ceremony, Dominican President Luis Abinader stated that the new plant represents a boost to competitiveness and national economic growth, while also contributing to job creation and the strengthening of the Dominican industry.
Pedro Estrella Tavares, CEO of EcoAcero, indicated that the plant features state-of-the-art technology and has an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of rebar, making it one of the most advanced industrial infrastructures in the Caribbean region.
