US steel shipments rise in Jul

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US steel mills’ steel shipments reached about 7.8 million net tons in July, up by 8.9% compared to the same month a year ago. However, this figure slightly dropped by 0.7% from the previous month’s shipments.

In the first seven months of this year, year-to-date shipments totaled around 52.94 million net tons, growing by 4.0% over the same period in 2024.

Compared to the January-July period in 2024, corrosion-resistant sheet and strip shipments rose by 2%, hot-rolled sheet and strip shipments declined by 2%, and cold-rolled sheet and strip shipments decreased by 5%.
