Taiwan’s CSC announces new prices for Oct

Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest integrated steel maker in Taiwan, announced its new price list for October and the fourth quarter.

CSC increased the prices of hot-rolled plate/coil, hot-rolled coil, and cold-rolled coil by NT$500/ton for October. The prices of other products, such as electro-galvanized (EG) steel coil, hot-dip galvanized steel coil, and electrical steel (ES) coil, all remained flat for October.

For the fourth quarter, steel products like rod, steel plate, and cold-rolled and hot-rolled coil are all kept unchanged.

Iron ore prices rose above US$105/ton, and coking coal hiked to US$185-190/ton. Affected by the high raw material costs and the recovered steel market, Chinese steel mills resumed production, and Baosteel maintained the price for October. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s FHS hiked its hot-rolled coil price by NT$10/ton.

It is expected that the demand and steel price will be stabilized and even go up in the fourth quarter.
