According to the World Stainless Association, global stainless steel production reached 48.02 million tons in the first three quarters of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 3%. Third-quarter production alone reached 16.07 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.
During this period, Asian countries (excluding China) produced 10.77 million tons of stainless steel, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%. China’s stainless steel production reached 30.45 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%.
European stainless steel production reached nearly 4.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%. The United States produced 1.65 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%.
Other countries, including countries like Ukraine, Brazil, and South Africa, produced 649,000 tons of stainless steel, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%.
