Australia raises AD duties on Chinese steel reinforcing bar imports

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced that after April 13, 2026, Australia will switch to a new fixed duty rate for steel reinforcing bar imports from China, increasing the anti-dumping (AD) duty rate to 23.7% for a period of five years.

Previously, Australia had been imposing an AD duty of 19% onsteel reinforcing bar imports from China for five years.

The Commission stated that to prevent further injury, the new price-based tariff system will be adopted after the expiration of the AD measures.

Following review, a duty method of floor price, rather than an AD duty, will be levied on Baowu Group Echeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
