ArcelorMittal Jinxi New Materials (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and China Oriental Group, has signed an equipment contract with Austrian technology group Andritz for its new production facility in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.
The order includes three final annealing and coating lines, a reversible cold rolling mill, and 12 inductors for the company’s New Energy Magnetic Material (NEMM) project. The equipment will be used to manufacture high-grade silicon steel products, specifically designed for applications in electric vehicle motors, generators, and transformers.
This investment supports the growing demand for green mobility solutions and aims to serve the local new energy vehicle (NEV) industry by enabling the production of advanced magnetic materials.
The project is also part of a broader effort to drive sustainable manufacturing practices within China’s steel and automotive sectors.
