Alupro partners with LARAC to strengthen aluminium packaging recycling

Alupro has announced a strategic partnership with the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC), aiming to improve waste management education and increase kerbside recycling rates. Through this collaboration, Alupro seeks to engage with local authorities, share best practices and promote consumer awareness campaigns.

As part of the agreement, Alupro will work closely with LARAC to provide expert guidance on aluminium packaging recycling. It will also use LARAC’s communication channels, including blogs, articles and website advertisements, to highlight its latest consumer education programmes. The collaboration reinforces Alupro’s role in aluminium packaging recycling, driving household participation and supporting its goal of a 100% recycling rate.

This partnership will help councils enhance kerbside capture rates by offering educational resources and engagement initiatives. Alupro’s well-established campaigns, such as MetalMatters, will be showcased to local authorities, making recycling more accessible for residents. The initiative will also support the UK’s broader sustainability goals by improving the circularity of aluminium packaging.

Tom Giddings, executive director of Alupro, commented: “As part of our efforts to educate consumers and inspire an uplift in kerbside capture rates, we continue to work closely with local authorities across the UK to inspire positive behavioural change among constituents. Through our proven engagement initiatives, such as MetalMatters, which has been rolled out by hundreds of councils since its launch in 2013, we aim to make recycling simple, accessible and digestible for householders.
