China’s aluminum-related output has steady growth in May

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, primary aluminum production in May reached 3.83 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%. Cumulative output for January to May totaled 18.59 million tons, up by 4.0% year on year.

Aluminum alloy production rose by 16.7% year on year to 1.65 million tons, with January-May output reaching 7.4 million tons, a 15.2% increase from the prior-year level. Alumina output in May was 7.49 million tons, up by 5% year on year, and cumulative production for the first five months reached 37.40 million tons, a 9.5% rise.

Aluminum product output in May also had slight growth, with May production at 5.76 million tons, up by 0.4%. The January-May output amounted to 26.8 million tons, a hike of 0.6%.
