Vale's 13 dams ordered to halt operation
It was reported that Vale S.A. (Vale)'s production would be impacted due to halted operation on 13 dams ordered by Brazilian court on Monday.
Vale is one of the biggest logistics operators in Brazil which engaged in metals and mining. Vale’s major Brucutu iron ore mine would resume operation much later than expected. It was the injunction issued by prosecutors from Minas Gerais state.
The capacity of Brucutu iron ore mine accounted for about 8% of Vale’s total output, approximately 30 million tons yearly. However, operation at other mines wouldn’t be affected.
