US still buys lots of stainless steel products from China despite tariffs
According to statistics, although the US had levied import tariffs on Chinese stainless steel products, the quantity didn't decrease.

From the first half of 2019, the volume of stainless steel exported from China to the US reached 34,000 tons, which increased by 4.3% year on year, and the stainless steel products from China to the US reached 58,000 tons, increasing by 6% year on year.

According to the customs data, the main stainless steel products included stainless steel tables, kitchenware, and other household stainless steel appliances.

However, although the impact of the US tariff policy on Chinese steel exports seemed to be relatively limited, its indirect and long-term impact was still great, which would aggravate the situation of oversupply of the US' stainless steel market.
