US’ section steel exports fall in Dec 2018
According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 21,200 tons of section steel in December 2018, including U, I, H, L and T section steels, down by 21.6% compared to the previous month, also dropping by 44.5% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the exports to Canada were around 16,000 tons, falling from 28,000 tons in the previous month and 20,200 tons in the same month a year ago; those to Mexico were around 3,140 tons; those to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.
In 2018, the exports of section steel in the US amounted to approximately 452,000 tons, a slight year-on-year growth of 0.2%.
