US planning to eliminate steel & aluminum tariffs on Mexico & Canada
The US will make plans to eliminate tariffs on steel and aluminum from Mexico and Canada, and will retain benefits for domestic producers.

The US trade representative Robert Lighthizer said on a senate panel hearing related to the WTO that the two countries will still be able to enter the US market as they had in the past if the tariffs were withdrawn, and the US will benefit from the steel and aluminum tariffs.

The US has imposed tariffs on imported steel and aluminum over the past years to protect domestic producers, and it planned to remove the tariffs on Canada and Mexico which were tied to the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
