US’ pig iron imports rise in Sep
According to the statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) and the US International Trade Commission (USITC), the US imported around 507,000 tons of pig iron this September, up by 46% compared to the previous month. The annual imports this year were expected to reach 5.8 million tons. 

Among the imports in September, the imports from Russia were around 298,000 tons; those from Ukraine were around 122,000 tons; those from Brazil were around 77,000 tons. 

In the first 9 months this year, the imports of the US’ pig iron totaled around 4.3 million tons. Among them, the imports from Russia accounted for 50% of total imports, reaching 2.3 million tons roughly; those from Ukraine accounted for 32%, reaching 1.4 million tons roughly; those from Brazil accounted for 11%, totaling around 473,000 tons.
