US’ mechanical tube imports increase in Jan
According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 29,000 tons of mechanical tubes in January, increasing by 12.4% compared to the previous month while going down by 49.6% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 12,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 18.4% and a year-on-year hike of 29.7%. The other import sources included Mexico (around 6,000 tons), India (around 2,300 tons), Germany (around 2,200 tons), and China (around 1,300 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$42 million, up by 15.3% month on month and 43.8% year on year.
