US’ crude steel production grows
According to the statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), as of the week ended March 9th, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 19.4 million short tons, up by 6.3% from the same period a year ago, also rising by 0.7% from the same period last week. The capacity utilization rate was 83.4%, increasing by 5.1% year on year and 0.6% week on week. 

After the adjustment, as of the week ended March 9th, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 18.4 million short tons in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%. The capacity utilization rate was 81.3%, a year-on-year growth of 4.7%.
