US' aluminum imports fall sharply due to tariffs
It was reported that due to the US' sanctions on United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), the US' imports of aluminum slid to a two-year low. Excluding imports from Canada, the US imported around 120,000 tons aluminum in June, down by 42.7% year on year, according to the data from the US International Trade Commission (USITC).

In June, the US imported around 4,200 tons from Russia, a month-on-month decline of 95.7%, which was also the highest decrease. However, market experts said that the US might lift sanctions on RUSAL by the end of the year. The move of sanction was seen as a settlement with aluminum suppliers instead of excluding RUSAL from the market.
