US’ Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis system postponed by Biden administration
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced on Monday (January 25) that the Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis (AIM) system will be postponed, from the original effective date on January 25.
The AIM system was promoted by the previous Trump administration, while the new Biden government expected to implement this system on March 29, 2021.
According to the USDOC, the postponement was necessary to have sufficient time to review the final rules and consider more comments before implementation.
