UAE's ongoing solar-powered aluminum
The UAE is powering aluminum production. The country produces certified solar-powered aluminum.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will provide EGA’s smelter with 560,000 megawatt-hours of solar power per year from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will achieve 5 GW of photovoltaic and concentrating solar power generation capacity in 2030, which will cut down carbon emissions through the Dubai Carbon Abatement Strategy.
Dubai had cut down 22% of its carbon emissions in 2019, which was much better than previously predicted.
