According to the data from the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), the imports of Turkish scrap totaled around 16 million tons during the period from January to September, rising by 5.8% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from the EU were around 9.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, accounting for 61% of the total; those from the US were around 3 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 17%, accounting for 18%; those from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were around 2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%, accounting for 13%.
