Turkish hot-rolled steel exports drop in Mar
According to statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported approximately 172,000 tons of hot-rolled flats under HS code 7208 in March, dropping by 27% from the previous month and 49% year on year.
The export volume of the HR flats dropped sharply due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and the implementation of strict anti-epidemic restrictions in various countries has caused an impact on the global steel trade.
In the first three months of 2020, Turkey exported roughly 710,000 tons of HR flats, falling by one third from the same period a year ago.
