Turkey's flat steel exports to EU with poor outlook
According to the report from the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey's flat steel products exports in September had fallen by 21.8% from a year earlier, came to around 394,000 tons.

The main reason for the drop was because of the weak demand in the EU in this June and July.

Moreover, the European Commission (EC) also said on September 26th that the existing safeguard measures for 26 steel product categories would be revised.

After the revision, there were be a 30% quota for those countries which exported the hot-rolled plate products to the EU, and it would limit Turkey’s hot-rolled coil exports strongly once the policy had been launched, as the EU was the main export market for Turkish flat steel products.
