ThyssenKrupp will close its heavy plate plant
According to the report, Thyssenkrupp has announced it will close its heavy plate plant in Duisburg-Hüttenheim after finishing the last batch of orders because the factory failed to find the buyer and cannot operate.

In the north of Duisburg or other locations in Thyssenkrupp, alternative jobs will be provided to approximately 800 employees. The closure of the heavy plate plant will not affect the company's Antwerp fixed-length steel plate production line.

ThyssenKrupp Steel continued to produce high-strength, wear-resistant cut-to-length plates. ThyssenKrupp decided not to sell ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe. Some market participants stated that Liberty Steel may acquire the company's steel division.
