Thailand’s billet imports increase in H1 2018
According to Thailand’s trade statistics, Thailand imported around 1.1 million tons of billet in the first half this year, up by 4.7% compared to the same period last year.
Although the imports in the first half this year has a year-on-year increase, the imports of billet have dropped for 4 consecutive months since February.
Thailand's economy was in an upward trend, so the billet imports declined due to the increase in the domestic steel production capacity.
