Taiwan's exports on coated steel products fell 25%
In the first two months of this year, Taiwan’s exports of hot-dip galvanized steels decreased by 25% compared to the same period of last year.
In March 2018, the US started to impose 25% duty on steel products under Section 232. After that, Canada and the European Union (EU) also proposed trade protection measures and proposed a combination of quota and tariff to prevent a surge of steel imports. Europe and the US are the main exporting market for Taiwan's steel products, especially for coated steel products.
After the implementation of steel protection in Europe and the US, it has a great impact on Taiwan's steel exports.
