Taiwan's CSC may start blast furnace maintenance in advance due to weak market demand
According to the announcement from China Steel Corporation (CSC), one of the largest steelmakers in Taiwan, it had in advanced its 2nd blast furnace maintenance from October to April in a few weeks ago due to the COVID-19 impact, but now CSC mentioned that if the process not facing any difficulty, the maintaining work would be in advanced further.
Not only CSC, but there were also more and more international steel mills decided to cut their production to react to current virus-influenced market demand in the world.
The maintenance work would be processed by 5 months, and CSC had already cut its production prediction by 10% in the second quarter and expected the decreasing trend would be continued to the third quarter.
