Taiwanese HGI & CGI prices' rise needs to prevent predatory pricing
It was reported that after Chung Hung Steel Corp., one of the leading steelmakers in Taiwan, led the rise in the price of galvanized products, other galvanized plants were also planning to follow the increasing price of galvanized products, while the market was worried whether some of the mills would offer special deals to boost orders.

Recently, Chung Hung raised the price of galvanized products, promoting the price rise of galvanized plants in Taiwan, of which the HGI price rose about NT$500/ton, pulling the market prices and raising CGI prices.

However, some of the market participants worried about the inventory issue. The inventory on average was still high, which pushed the possibility of some mills to offer a special price, and that would influence the price on the market.

Market experts believed that the current galvanized market HGI performance was better than CGI. If steel mills offered preferential projects, it would interfere with the market situation.
