The report indicated that South Korean imported rebars in October totaled around 60,000 tons which were twice as many as they did in September.
South Korean main source to import rebars were Japan and China. South Korea also imported some rebars from Taiwan but relatively less although Taiwan origin had competiveness on price.
The report stated that the reason why South Korea imported many rebars in October was due to tight supply from domestic suppliers. While the import quantity increased quarter-by-quarter, it was still lower than the performance compared to the same period last year.
