South Africa seeking exemption from US’ tariffs
Rob Davies, the minister of trade and industry of South Africa, said that recently the South African government was still striving for the exemption from the US’ tariffs on steel and aluminum which have been imposed since March this year. However, the US government continued refusing South African requests.

At present, the US exempted some of the imports from South Africa only, including 36 steel products and 161 aluminum products.

The South African government will keep negotiating with the US in order to receive a complete exemption from the US’ import tariffs.
