Russia's Severstal aims to raise export sales of large-diameter steel pipes in 2021
Russian steel manufacturer Severstal has increased its export sales of large-diameter pipes by around 80% in 2020, and it planned to raise the figure in 2021.

The firm aimed to reach a sales amount of 200,000-210,000 tons in 2020, and the exports were expected to be 30,000 tons.

Severstal gave a sales target of 380,000-420,000 tons for large-diameter steel pipes. The firm aimed to raise the number of large-diameter steel pipe certifications in 2021, and it has obtained more than 20 certifications in 2020.

According to Severstal, 80% of large-diameter steel pipes were hoped to be sold in the domestic market; however, the firm's operation needed to be kept flexible in order to reactive the unstable market, so the firm's 50% of large-diameter steel pipes were for exporting, after receiving certification and participating in bidding and product development.
