Rusal: Global demand for aluminum to grow by 3.7% in 2019
Rusal predicted that the demand for aluminum will grow rapidly in 2019 and there will be a shortage for about 1 to 1.4 million tons. The global demand will hike by 3.7% to 68 million tons.

In 2018, the consumption of aluminum grew by 2% in Europe, 1.6% in North America, and 1.3% in Asia which excluded China and India.

The CEO of Rusal said that the company is planning to get into the new market in 2019. Rusal is the biggest manufacturer besides China, and it is also the only manufacturer which is specialized in making aluminum in Russia. 


In 2018, Rusal's aluminum production reached 3.75 million tons roughly, which have grown by 1.3% compared to 2017. At the same time, the sales volume went down by 7.2% to around 3.7 million tons.
