POSCO becomes 1st Korean company to allow parents to work from home
South Korean steelmaker POSCO has become the first Korean company to allow parents of newborns to work from home. The measure is being introduced to prevent parents from cutting their careers short due to the burdens of childcare. POSCO’s new childcare policy is expected to allow employees with children under 8 years old to work from home for two years, either full-time (eight hours) or part-time (four hours). The full-time option is offered with full salary and bonuses, while the part-time option is offered with full salary and reduced bonuses, depending on the hours worked. POSCO already provides an in-house daycare center (pictured) for its employees.
