According to reports, Norsk Hydro has already begun to supply aluminum for the battery case of Audi's first all-electric model.
It was reported that in the processing and manufacturing of this aluminum material, Norsk Hydro has passed ASI's chain of custody certificate. In addition, ASI awarded Audi's corresponding sustainable production certificate for aluminum components in October 2018. 
This indicated that the future aluminum sheet used to process the Audi e-tron battery casing will complete the entire production chain from bauxite mining to smelting to the final products.
