Mexico’s alumina imports to rise by 9.69% in 2020
Aluminum is the second most used industrial metal in the world. Mexico was currently facing a shortage of bauxite mines, thus the country would not produce enough aluminum to meet domestic demand.

In the past 3 years, Mexico’s import of alumina remained stable. The total volume was around 91,500 tons, and the revenue expenditure was US$116.42 million. The number in 2020 could reach around 32,300 tons and US$42.18 million respectively.

Mexico's alumina import volume was expected to increase by 9.69% year on year in 2020. The country's alumina was mainly imported from countries like Brazil, Germany, France, Belgium, Japan, the US, Turkey, and so forth.
