The three-month futures price of nickel from London Metal Exchange (LME) rose by US$123.5/ton to US$12,994.5/ton on March 26th, and the highest in intraday sessions was US$13,155/tons. Besides, the spot price increased by US$123.5/ton to US$12,994.5/ton.
Meanwhile, LME’s market inventory of nickel kept sliding. It dropped by 678 tons on March 26th, reaching 183,582 tons. The cumulative decrease in March was 13,350 tons.
According to market participants, the price of nickel has risen by around 20% since the beginning of the year. Nickel price was expected to remain stable in the near future due to a long-term weakening of the US dollar, but it still needed to observe the development of trade negotiations between the US and China.
