Japan's domestic steel orders rise for Jan-May
According to the data released by Japan’s Steel Association, Japan’s domestic steel products orders were 4.33 million tons in this May, down by 3.8% compared with last month and hold stable compared with last year. Meanwhile, the domestic steel products orders in this country were 22.92 million tons during the first five months of this year, up by 2.2% compared with the same period of 2016. Among them, the ordinary steel products ordered by domestic construction industry were 875,270 tons, down by 7.1% compared with last year; the special steel products ordered by domestic automotive industry were 1.1 million tons, up by 10.3% compared with last year and the ordinary steel products ordered by domestic shipbuilding industry were 297,461 tons, down by 7.7% compared with last year.
