Japan’s crude steel production falls in Apr
According to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan’s crude steel production totaled roughly 7.5 million tons in April this year, falling by 6% compared to the previous month and also sliding by 4.4% from the same month a year ago.

During the same period, Japan’s pig iron output was roughly 5.3 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 6.8% and a year-on-year reduction of 6.2%.

In the first four months of this year, Japan’s crude steel production amounted to approximately 30.5 million tons, down by 3.3% year on year; the pig iron production was around 22.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%.
