Japanese aluminum producers to hike production in US
In order to solve the supplying issue along with the increasing prices, Japanese aluminum producers plan to hike their production in the US.

The 10% and 25% tariffs being imposed on aluminum and steel impacted the imports in the US, especially the aluminum from China and Russia. It brought insufficiency supply and price soaring problems to the US.

Although the US government has approved 80% of exemption requests for Japanese aluminum products, Japanese Kobe Steel plans to hike their monthly production to 1,000 tons at its Kentucky plant; furthermore, to set up a new one for automotive applications.

Another Japanese Aluminum industry UACJ Corporation also invested about ¥18 billion to increase production in a Kentucky plant and was considering about processing into auto parts as JV. It is expected its aluminum sheet production in the US would grow by 50% from 2017 levels, over 1 million tons during the year of 2020.
